How are Woven Polyester Lanyards Made?

Even if you have no art or design skills, Lanyard Depot can help! Our staff of artists and designers have years of digital art experience, and are more than happy to assist you in the design process. If you’re not confident in creating your own lanyard design, you can always send us your ideas in the form of written notes or even a small sketch. We even take doodles on a napkin! Lanyards are originally a continuous spool of yarn/ribbon. The fabric is then weaved together with a twilling machine until the straps are made. Unlike the imprinted lanyards, the design is woven directly into the lanyard. Because of the woven design, woven lanyards are strong and durable, however you can only choose up to 3 thread colors for the design. 

Finally, the lanyards are assembled by sewing them into loops and adding the lanyard components and accessories. For example, a company lanyard may have a break away clip on the back, and a lobster claw clip at the bottom, to clip onto a badge holder.
